Illiana Disposal & Recycling established itself on the streets of Northwest Indiana in 1959. Founded by Donald L. Haan of Highland, IN, Illiana Disposal Service began with a single truck and a vision to bring quality, affordable garbage service to businesses of the Region.

The company grew as word of its solid commitment to its customers spread. Commercial container service was added, and Roll-off boxes provided for the area’s contractors and industries. As concerns for environmental issues were expressed, Illiana Disposal Service made the decision to offer its customers the means of recycling, and changed the company name to match its new objective: to not only provide quality, affordable garbage service, but to also commit to protecting the environment through recycling.

Illiana Disposal & Recycling joined the Allied Waste Industries family of companies in 1994.They remain committed to quality, environmentally responsible waste disposal and recycling services in Northwest Indiana now and into the future.
